Speakers to provide expert insight at Lexus Wrexham Open's Business Leaders Breakfast
Monday, 17 August 2026

Business leaders from across the region are invited to attend an event in Wrexham next month which will focus on how lessons from the sports field can positively impact their own businesses.
Organised as part of the build up to October's Lexus Wrexham Open tennis tournament, the Business Leaders Breakfast - sponsored by Aiker Wills and Trusts - will provide guests with an opportunity to gain expert insight from a trio of speakers. The event will take place at Wrexham's Ramada Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, September 22 between 8-10am, with tickets now available.
Dave Courteen, the Lexus Wrexham Open promoter, said: "This proved to be a hugely popular event in last year's tournament calendar, so we are now looking forward to holding our second Business Leaders Breakfast.
"It will be a chance for business leaders from across the city and wider region to enjoy a series of workshops and presentations, along with networking opportunities, over breakfast.
"We are proud and passionate to bring world class tennis to Wrexham, and as part of that we are always looking to see what else we can add to help improve the community and the success of the city.
"We are delighted that our Business Leaders Breakfast will look at how sport can teach us lessons and help our businesses to be more successful. It will be a really inspiring, challenging and engaging morning."
This year's theme is 'A Competitive Edge', with Chris White, Performance Intelligence and Analysis Lead for the Lawn Tennis Association, speaking about how data is used in elite sport, how it can make the difference between winning and losing, and how it can also be applied in the business environment. As well as working with top British tennis players at the LTA, Chris was also a key part of the success of the British cycling teams at the Beijing and London Olympics, having also been part of Team Sky in the sport too.
The morning will include a discussion on how Net World Sports grew from a back bedroom business to become one of the leading sports retailers in the world, with guests discovering how they did it and the challenges faced along the way.
The event's keynote speaker will be Felix Bramley, Performance Consultant from 'Will it Make the Boat Go Faster.' Based on the successful strategies employed by Olympic gold medal winning rowers, Felix and his team help leaders ensure their organisations perform at their best by aligning around a shared strategic goal and embedding the mindset, habits and culture needed to achieve it.
This is a business event that will inspire, challenge and engage business leaders to create a healthier and stronger business.
