Making Wrexham World Class Business Leaders Workshop to Launch 2026 Lexus Wrexham Open

Around 150 local businesspeople and dignitaries are expected at the Business Leaders Workshop to launch the 2026 Lexus Wrexham Open. The complimentary breakfast briefing is designed to showcase the exciting opportunity for the local business community to be part of the biggest tennis tournament ever held in North Wales.

The Launch event will be held at Ramada Plaza Hotel in Wrexham between 8am – 10am on Tuesday 24th March and is being organised by tournament promoters Mosaic group and West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce. The event is sponsored by the hosts, Ramada Plaza Hotel, and Lanyon Bowdler, the regional legal firm who have sponsored the event, and its predecessor in Shrewsbury, for the last 8 years.

As well as the complimentary breakfast and the chance to network with local business leaders, delegates will hear direct from the BBC sports team how and why last year’s event was so successful across BBC iPlayer and social media channels. The event will also premier a video of last year that captures the excitement and atmosphere that culminated in the fairy tale story win for rising Welsh star Mimi Xu.

Dave Courteen, Tournament Promoter explained, "we will be holding three panels and the first one will help explain what the impact of the 2025 event was and we are grateful to have Laura Kenyon from the BBC Sport team to lead that panel alongwith key players from the LTA and the ITF, who host the tour worldwide. It will be great to learn from them just how the World Tour W100 event we stafged in Wrexham compares to other events of that stature held across the world."

But the event won't just be about looking back. There will also the chance to hear first hand all about the exciting innovations that are being introduced the this year's event, whihc will be hedl from 18th - 25th October a the Wrexham Tennis and Padel Centre.

"One of the new for 2026 ideas is that we ahve employed a sports audio specialist who will be curating our own theme tune and creating some amazing soundtraks to help build the atmosphere. Adam Venton from Little Monster Media has worked across top level professional football and rugby events and will explain how the right soundtracks can elevate the staidum experience," added Dave.

The final workshop will help business leaders understand how they can really benefit from an international event of this stature coming to Wrexham. Jemma Groves, from event sponsors Lanyon Bowdler, will talk about how the legal firm have utilised their sponsorship and ensured they get value for money, and she will be joined by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Wrexham City of Culture Bid team to amplify how vital events of this natuer are to the financial wellbeing of the city.
